There is no Indian round, so following the sport properly means flying for it. Three races make sense from India, for reasons of distance, timing and what the weekend is actually like. This is the desk's view of which to take and what it costs.
Singapore
A night race on a street circuit, five hours from Delhi or Mumbai, in a city that is straightforward for Indian travellers. Marina Bay runs under floodlights, so the racing happens in the evening and the days belong to you. Circuit, concerts and city sit inside one walkable area. It is the most complete race weekend on the calendar.
Abu Dhabi
Yas Marina closes the season, and in most years the championship is still open when it does. The race begins in daylight and finishes under lights, which is the finest hour of the year to be trackside. It is a short flight, the ground cost sits below Singapore, and the entry rules for an Indian passport are among the simplest anywhere.
Las Vegas
A night race down the Strip, run late so it broadcasts into European mornings, which means watching cars at 200 miles an hour past a casino at midnight. It is the most theatrical weekend in the sport. It is also American, so the visa is the gate, and race week hotel rates are the highest of any round.
Tickets
Grandstands open six to nine months out and the good ones go first. A three day grandstand runs 25,000 to 1,20,000 rupees depending on circuit and position, with Paddock Club well above. General admission works at a permanent circuit and barely works at a street one, which matters, because two of the three races worth flying to are street circuits.
The paperwork
Singapore requires a visa for an Indian passport, arranged through an authorised agent, usually inside a week. The UAE issues a visa on arrival to holders of a valid US, UK or Schengen visa or residence, and a pre-arranged visa otherwise. The United States requires a B1 or B2, and the appointment wait in India is the real timeline. Choose the race once you know which entry you can hold.

How much walking is a Grand Prix weekend?
More than most people plan for. Street circuits like Singapore and Las Vegas spread grandstands and fan zones across several kilometres of closed road, and general-admission tickets in particular mean hours on your feet across three days. Purpose-built circuits like Yas Marina are far more compact.
What should you wear to a Grand Prix?
It depends entirely on the race. Singapore in October is 32 degrees and humid, so light and breathable. Abu Dhabi in December needs a layer for the evening. Las Vegas in November is a cold desert night and needs a real jacket. Ear protection and shoes you can walk in apply everywhere.
Is it better to fly to one race or several?
One, done properly. A single weekend attended from Thursday, with the concerts and the paddock, is a different experience from a Sunday-only visit to three races. For a first Grand Prix from India, Singapore or Abu Dhabi is the sensible choice: visas are straightforward and flights are short.
